Last week as i was browsing through Tastespotting in karthik’s room,we came across this cheesecake recipe that did not require an oven to make it.So karthik got all excited about this and decided to make it our weekend project.
So here’s the recipe for it:
Ingredients:-
– 2 packets of graham crackers
-400 g of cream cheese
-1/2 cup of sugar
-1/2 cup of vanilla sugar
-300 g of butter
-heavy cream-35%
-1 bar of cappuccino flavored chocolate
-1 bar dark chocolate for garnishing (optional)
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-200 g hazelnut flavored M&M’s
Step 1:Crush the graham crackers with 300g of melted butter until it becomes moist crumbs.
Step 2:Transfer the crumbs into a tray and spread it out evenly using a spatula or your hand. Then transfer it to your refrigerator for 1/2 an hour or so,until the base is set.
Step 3: Beat the cream cheese with 1/2 a cup of sugar using a whisk or wooden spoon. We just used a blender. After that add in the vanilla extract.
Step 4: Whisk the heavy cream until it becomes light and fluffy with vanilla sugar.
Step 5: Mix up the cream cheese and heavy cream until it becomes a thick smooth mixture, make sure there are no lumps at this point. After that you’re free to put in any kind of nut, chocolate and fruits to make the filling. We used M&M’s and cappuccino flavored chocolate.
Step 6: Mix it all up together then pour it over the base.
Step 7: Freeze it for 5-6 hours or until it’s set.
Step 8:Garnish it with chocolate shavings once it’s done.
This is a dish you create when you have absolutely nothing in the fridge.I was practically staring at the almost empty shelves for a good 10 minutes when i found these: leek and 4 hard boiled eggs, two cloves of garlic and a small piece of ginger.Kinda pathetic i know, but what to do it’s too cold to do any grocery shopping.Anyway here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:-
-200 g of mee hoon
-2 cloves of garlic sliced
-a small piece of ginger sliced
-200 g of leek sliced
-4 hard boiled eggs sliced(you can do without the yolk and it’ll still be as tasty)
-one fresh chili sliced
-2tbs of oyster sauce
-1 tbs of sesame oil
-soy sauce to taste
-a pinch of sugar and pepper to taste
Firstly boil some water and dump in the mee hoon to cook, while this is happening heat some oil in a pan and start frying the garlic, ginger and chili for 2 min, then throw in the sliced leek and stir fry it for about 3-4 min, once it becomes soft pour in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, pepper and sesame oil in this order. Then stir in the cooked mee hoon and hard boiled eggs evenly and you’re done.Simple isn’t it.

Well i was just stumbling a while ago, when i was supposed to be studying and came across this particular site that had this set of questions.
There are no right or wrong answers for this set.
Because sometimes asking the right questions is the answer. And here are my answers:
Q.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
A: Sometimes i feel like i’m 16 years old and sometimes i feel like i’m 27.
Q.Which is worse, failing or never trying?
A:Well i suppose most people would say never trying, but for me personally i find failing much more worse, maybe because i have failed so many times and the feeling you get, that crushed feeling isn’t very nice to deal with.
Q.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
A:I do things for two reasons:
1.Because it makes me happy
2.It makes others happy
Sometimes things i do might hurt others so those would come under the category of things i don’t do and the other reason would be because i’m afraid of doing it.
Q.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
A:I would have said more than I’ve done.
Q.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
A:Greed
Q.If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
A:A toy-maker
Q.Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
A:It’s a bit of both,due to circumstances.
Q.If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
A:For starters i wouldn’t have signed up for a course that takes 6 years to complete, worked harder and saved up enough by now to see the world,to be a better daughter and sister.
Q.To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
A:Most of it was done by my parents up to certain point and the rest by me(that’s when everything went downhill)
Q.Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
A:Doing the right things.
Q.You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?
A:I would see how far they would go,then defend my friend and after that, tell them she’s my friend.
Q.If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
A:To live life to the fullest and to be strong for your loved ones.
Q.Would you break the law to save a loved one?
A:Yes
Q.Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
A:Definitely,so far in three people in know of- Guna,HypoG, and vicks.
Q.What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
A:The way i walk,i think.
Q.How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
A:I have no idea
Q.What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
A:To learn horse riding. My education, financial status and circumstances.
Q.Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
A:Used to.
Q.If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
A:I would like to move to Hawaii, because that would be my idea of paradise.
Imagine.
A place somewhere far,far away. This place is dark, quiet and peaceful. This is a place i frequently go to,a place of comfort and solitude. When i’m at this particular place, all i have to do is close my eyes and listen to the sound of gentle waves and it soothes me-it’s patterned recurrence of melody and harmony. But one day something unusual happened,as i was preparing to leave this place,i heard a faint noise of someone or something moving around.Curious,i turned around and that’s when i saw them-a woman who was enchantingly beautiful and a man. They were dressed in robes, hers was a white one that seemed to be made of silk and his a black robe and they were suspended in mid-air.Maybe i was supposed to feel afraid or at least bothered but i was mesmerized by them-they were dancing like a dream in such a beautiful manner, graceful and fluid that it seemed like they were floating. And that’s when i heard the soft and dreamy musical notes replacing my waves, yet for some odd reason i didn’t seem to mind, all i could do at that time was stare at the woman’s grace and beauty, something i will never attain. However at that time i did not envy, her because i saw such hidden pain that seemed to scar her pretty little face, and yet she kept on dancing for an unknown reason, keeping that mask of happiness on.Suddenly everything disappears, the music, the dance and all i can hear is the sound of my heartbeat, then the sound of machines beeping, people talking, and as i open my eyes i see a room filled with flowers and cards. Then i lift my hand, only to find it bruised with tubes of various sorts, sighing i plaster on the mask of happiness and greet my well-wishers battling yet another day, yearning and wishing to be back in my special place forever.
